TOPIC: Delhi 1984 - Preet Rai’s Eye Witness Account of the Sikh Genocide

Gurmat Center will be having its 84th youth group program on Saturday, November 30, 2024. GCY is a safe space for youth in high school and university to explore Gurmat without any judgement. GUEST SPEAKER

Preet Rai has served as a dedicated School Trustee in Abbotsford for 16 years. A chartered accountant from India, he worked for the Scottish Government before immigrating to Canada in 1995. Since 1997, he has been employed by the Government of British Columbia. His wife is a teacher, and their three children attended Abbotsford public schools.

Preet is passionate about engaging with students, whether through reading to kindergartners, answering questions from older students, or celebrating their talents at events like Abbyfest. He strongly supports the Abbotsford School District’s focus on personalized learning, choice, and parent involvement. Beyond his trustee role, Preet has contributed to numerous community organizations, championing diversity and student success.
