In this issue of our seasonal newsletter, you will find out what has happened since the spring holidays along with upcoming information about fall class registration and events!  This Happened...          Level 6 Part 2 Sehaj Paath Bhog         The Level 6 Part 2 class has reached the end of their Guru Granth Sahib Ji Santhia. These students have developed shudh ucharan (correct pronunciation) of Gurbani over the past 2 years. For the first time, these students took part in a Sehaj Paath Bhog. A big thank you to their teacher, Bibi Amanjot Kaur for helping them prepare! FINAL EXAMS In May, all Punjabi, Santhia, & Sikh Studies students completed their final exams for the school year. Students worked very hard throughout the year to ensure they are prepared for their final exams. If you would like to register for any of our classes, click on the button below. We look forward to seeing all the students in September!  Click here to register for Gurmat Center classes!    29th Annual Awards Ceremony  After two years of the pandemic, we were finally able to gather in Sangat with Guru Jee’s Kirpa to celebrate another successful year at Gurmat Center. Each student was recognized with a custom plaque and those who placed received medals. Each and every student worked very hard throughout the year in their Punjabi, Santhia, Sikh Studies, Kirtan and Gatka classes! Click here to view Awards Ceremony pictures! GURMAT CENTER YOUTH PROGRAM In May, we were fortunate to have Bhai Bhupinder Singh as the guest speaker for the 55th GCY. Bhai Sahib talked about the challenges that Sikh youth face today and participants had a wonderful discussion about how to combat these challenges. After discussion, participants engaged in a very fun game of Pictionary. Pizza dinner and ice cream sundaes for dessert concluded the wonderful evening!  In June, GCY was facilitated by Bhai Parmvir Singh. Bhai Sahib facilitated a beautiful discussion on ਖਿਮਾ (forgiveness) and how we can practise it in our lives. Afterwards, the group enjoyed the sunshine through a fun game of California Kickball followed by dinner. For the month of July, GCY was facilitated by Jaskarn Singh. There was wonderful discussion on "Creating Societal Change Through Sikhi" followed by a fun game of musical chairs! The evening was concluded with a yummy pizza dinner and ice cream sundaes for dessert! SUMMER CAMP We had a very successful Summer Camp this year with over 230 campers! The camp was full of fun and learning. Campers enjoyed learning about Sikhi, playing sports and games, designing their own Gurdwaras and much more! The last week of each session had many fun-filled days like pajama day, sports day, movie day and water day!  YEAR-END STAFF MEETING Gurmat Center staff joined together for the last staff meeting of the school year! Sevadars participated in breakout groups for their departments to discuss feedback about the school year, final exams, and the Awards Ceremony. We hope the teachers have a great summer and we are excited to see them again in September! Akali Phula Singh Gatka Akhara displayed their incredible Gatka skills during the Awards Ceremony and Nishan Sahib Seva. The Gatka class spent many hours practising for these big events! We are pleased to announce that Bhai Harman Singh Jee from @basicsofsikhi will be joining us for this month’s youth program on Saturday, August 27! Bhai Sahib Ji visited Gurmat Center back in 2017 and we are so excited have their Darshan again! With Guru Jee's Kirpa, we have been able to educate our youth about Sikhi and serve our Guru over the past three decades. Gurmat Center is incredibly grateful for the continuous support from the Sangat and the contributions made by families over the past 30 years.
