FAMILY REFERRAL DISCOUNT

To encourage registration of new students, Gurmat Center is offering a Family Referral Discount. For every new family that you refer to Gurmat Center, you will receive a $25 discount on your children’s registration.

Who is eligible for this discount?

You can only receive this discount if you have registered for any Gurmat Center class (Level 1 – 6, Kirtan or Gatka) in 2023 or in previous years.

Who is considered a new family?

A family is considered “new”, if they have never enrolled in any Gurmat Center class before

(Level 1 – 6, Kirtan or Gatka).

WHAT GURMAT CENTER HAS TO OFFER

Punjabi Classes

Over the course of three years (level 1, 2, & 3), students learn to read and write in Punjabi. Students learn the Gurmukhi alphabet, numbers, symbols, Punjabi grammar, and much more.

Santhia Classes

Level 4: Students learn proper pronunciation of all seven Nitnem Banis (daily prayers).

Level 6 part 1 and 2: Students learn proper pronunciation of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Jee. This level is completed over the course of 2 years.

Sikh Studies

This course focuses on the foundational concepts of Sikhi. Students expand their knowledge of Gurmat through large screen presentations, movies and documentaries, classrooms discussions, and field trips. Students learn to interpret Gurbani meanings and also focus on modern-day issues around the world.

Kirtan Classes

Gurmat Center offers 5 levels of Kirtan, ranging from beginners to advanced. Using the basic musical scale known as SARGAM, students learn and practise various Shabads in different Taals. Students also perform at Sunday Youth & Family Darbar and other programs.

Gatka Class

Students receive Gatka training based on their skill level. Students display their Gatka skills during the Nagar Kirtan, Shaheedi Smagam, Awards Ceremony, and at various competitions.

Dastar Tying Classes

The Dastar has a huge significance in Sikhi as it is a part of our identity. The Dastar is our Guru Sahibs' gift to us, men and women alike. Students in this class will learn how to tie a Dastar over the course of 10 weeks.
