On May 11th, Level 5 (Sikh Studies) students attended the Sikh Pioneers field trip where they had the opportunity to visit various locations in the lower mainland with historical significance for the Sikh community. Simcoe Park, the first stop, is the site of Bhai Mewa Singh Jee's Shaheedi. Here, students recited Choupee Sahib to commemorate Bhai Mewa Singh's sacrifice. Canada's first Sikh Gurdwara - which was established in 1906 - Gurdwara Khalsa Diwan Society (Ross St.), the Komagata Maru Museum, and Memorial are a few of many other sights students visited.
