Being a volunteer means contributing time, energy and services. The end-goal of becoming a volunteer at the Gurmat Center is to develop such a love and passion for service that it becomes a way of life, rather than a single isolated act of service. As Sikhs, we are born to serve humanity and becoming a volunteer is a small starting point where you can direct your time and energy to make a positive difference in someone else's life, as well as your own.
The Gurmat Center has a commitment to our volunteers. We will always try our best to provide our volunteers with training, opportunities for self-development and leadership. Every effort is made to match an individual's interests and skills with a suitable position to ensure that the work is interesting and challenging. We are dedicated to recognizing your time commitment and hard work on a regular basis as well as through special events in your honour.
On this day we would like to familiarise our volunteers with the environment and people they will be working with, and to make them feel prepared and welcome for their amazing seva they will be doing for the rest of the year!
