On October 26, Beant Kaur Grewal's family went out to serve at the Salvation Army. Preparations began early Saturday. A team of 15 volunteers prepared the Langar and 6 volunteers went to serve the homeless and hungry. See event pictures here.
The first ever Shaheedi Smagam family movie night was a great success! Families gathered to watch the movie Kaum De Heere which follows the lives of Bhai Satwant Singh and Beant Singh. This movie night helped Sangat learn and reflect on the events of 1984, which will be further discussed at the annual Shaheedi Smagam taking place on October 31, 2019. See event pictures here
On October 26, 2019, Simran club members enjoyed a delicious waffle breakfast. Preparation began at 5:30 AM by Seva club, followed by waffle making at 7:00 AM by Simran club moms. The menu consisted of waffles, maple syrup, whipped cream, blueberry and strawberry sauce, white chocolate sauce, ice cream, and milk! The 17th Annual Shaheedi Smagam was a great success! Families came together on October 31st to remember the Shaheeds of 1984. The program started with wristband distribution and appetizers. Afterwards, students went to Darbar for Kirtan and Katha by Bhai Navreet Singh followed by three grand prize draws. Sangat enjoyed pizza and ice cream sandwiches for Langar and watched a Gatka performance led by Bhai Jagjit Singh. The event ended off with prize draws for students and parents and free candy bags for all students who chose to spend their evening in Sangat!

On Saturday, October 19, over 70 volunteers came out to pack candy bags! Volunteers prepared 300 candy bags that will be distributed to kids who chose to come to the Gurdwara instead of going trick-or-treating. See pictures here
Kirtan classes take place from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. The day of class depends upon the student's level:

On Saturday, October 12, 2019, 21 volunteers came out to clean up Gurmat Center's adopted park. Children of all ages and parents came together and collected garbage. After cleaning up, participants ate some snacks and participated in an active game of soccer. This group of volunteers is very special as their morning began at 7:00 AM at Simran club, followed by cleaning up Clearbrook park from 10:00 - 12:00 PM! Click here to see pictures!

Children that attended this event received an extra entry in the grand prize draw!
