Kirtan classes have been taking place since October. Students have been safely practicing and developing new skills in their classes. Advanced Kirtan students have also been gaining a deeper understanding of Raag.

United Nations Virtual Conference

Last week, one of our Gurmat Center Sevadars presented at a United Nations virtual conference. The presentation discussed ways to make buildings more inclusive and accessible for those with disabilities. Tejpreet Kaur was the only Sikh out of all the speakers that presented! We always encourage our youth to advance their leadership and communication skills through important events such as this.

Anti-Bullying Day

Students participate in Pink Shirt Day! Students wore pink today to spread the importance of empathy, being kind to everyone and to take a stand against bullying. Thank you to everyone that participated!

First Day of Advanced Sikh Studies

Yesterday was the first day of the advanced Sikh Studies class. This class, taught by Bhai Gurkeerat Singh Jee, focuses on the Sikh Rehat Maryada (Sikh Code of Conduct). The first class began with the Janam Sanskar (the birth ceremony). We look forward to gaining and sharing knowledge every Saturday morning in a healthy, fun and safe environment!
